STEPS TO COMPLETE THE FAFSA

Your FSA ID, gives you access to certain information online and allows you to sign your FAFSA® form and promissory notes electronically.

Independent students meet the following:

You are at least 24 years old on the day you file your FAFSA

You are married on the day you file your FAFSA
-
You are a parent
-
You are an Orphan or Ward of the Court (or were until age 18)
-
You are a Veteran or currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces
-
You were a foster child after the age of 13
-
You are an emancipated child as determined by a court judge
SUBMiT REQUiRED DOCUMENTS
The FAFSA questions ask for information about you (your name, date of birth, address, etc.) and about your financial situation. Depending on your circumstances (for instance, whether you’re a U.S. citizen or what tax form you used), you might need the following information or documents as you fill out the FAFSA application:

Your Social Security Number - it’s vital that you enter it correctly or you can expect delays

Your parents’ Social Security Numbers if you are a dependent student

Your driver’s license number (if applicable)

Your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen

Federal tax information, tax documents, or tax returns, including IRS W-2 information, for you (and your spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student

Records of your untaxed income (child support received, interest income, and veterans noneducation benefits, etc.)

Information on cash, savings and checking account balances; investments, etc.

While completing the FAFSA form, you must list our school for us to receive the information. Our Financial Aid Advisor will use your FAFSA information to determine the types and amounts of aid you may receive. Use our OPEID code: 042972 or search by name "Sami Halaseh Institute" on your FAFSA form.
